This is a partial list of lectures over recent years.
June 2025 - Seaside Heritage Network Symposium. I spoke on the challenges and opportunities of seaside heritage, drawing on my work in Jaywick Sands, Hastings and other places.
May 2025 - Suffolk Design Symposium. I spoke on how planning can, and should, enable outstanding new design.
November 2024 - Twentieth Century Society. I gave an illustrated lecture on planning and housebuilding, drawing parallels between the 1920s housing of the Tudor Walters era, the contemporary plotlands self-build movement, and potential answers to today.
July 2024 - Festival of Place. I spoke about Jaywick Sands and the intersection of climate change, economic deprivation and social resilience.
April 2024 - Rural Studio. I gave one of the pecha kucha talks at the 30th anniversary of the Studio.
November 2022 - Colchester Art Society. I gave the annual lecture and spoke about time and architecture.
March 2022 - Architecture Foundation. I made a recorded talk on my experience designing spaces for artists to work in.
March 2019 - Jane’s Walks. I gave the annual lecture and spoke about politics and planning.
March 2018 - Beyond Participation. I spoke at this Dublin symposium about public participation in planning and the often conflicted role of myself as a professional working in this field.
June 2017- Future Cities Forum. I spoke about arts-led regeneration.
Other talks include lectures to various architecture societies, festivals and conferences in the UK and abroad.
I have also given guest lectures at universities including Manchester Metropolitan University, the Mackintosh School of Art, Kingston University, and the University of Central Lancashire,
