From the Landscape

I was commissioned to write exhibition texts for the major new exhibition of paintings by Simon Carter at Firstsite. These included a critical essay on Simon’s work and its relationship to landscape, and to devise and edit interviews with Simon and with Sally Shaw, the curator of the exhibition.

I also worked with Simon and Sally on the interpretation text for the exhibition display, and created a hand-drawn ‘map’ of the exhibition. Simon also asked me to create the soundscapes for the installation, using field recordings made by him during his walks around the Essex coast.
